Intro to Acting

This course is perfect for energetic, young performers! We will explore the exciting world of theatre in this creative and fun class.  Students will be introduced to the performing arts, including acting, improv, dancing, and more. In a supportive and nurturing environment, students will become better actors as they learn the creative skills necessary to help them grow as performers. The course will culminate in a spring showcase in April.




Grades: 2 - 4

Mondays, 5:30 – 6:30pm

Acting I

This fun course explores the fundamentals of becoming a strong, young actor. Students will learn voice and movement, improvisation, areas of the stage, ensemble building, and an introduction to monologue and scene work. This course is tailor-made for those eager to develop hidden talents that may lead to a career in the theatre, or those who simply want to gain self-confidence and improve communications skills. The course will culminate in a spring showcase in April.



Grades: 5 - 8

Wednesdays, 5:30 – 6:45pm

Acting II

This exciting course encourages students to become the best performer they can be by focusing on believability and acting truthfully under imaginary circumstances. Students will strengthen their skills in comic and dramatic timing and study theatre history, improvisation, expression of emotion, character development, and monologue and scene work. Students will also develop techniques to aid in the audition process. The course will culminate in a spring showcase in April.



Grades: 9 - 12

Wednesdays, 7:00 – 8:15pm

Stage Makeup

We are so excited to offer our creative and fun Stage Makeup course! Students will be introduced to various aspects of theatrical makeup including products, tools, and application techniques. Students will learn basic highlight and shadow, character makeup, fantasy makeup, old age, gore and wounds, and so much more. As we like to say at Lark – “Your only limitation is your own imagination!” (And a warning – we will get messy!) 


Grades: 6 - 12

Mondays, 6:45 – 8:00pm 

January 21 - April 22, 2019

Hip Hop Workshops

Our guest teacher Ebony Mudd will be leading hip hop and movement workshops periodically throughout the year. She has worked in New York, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, and now we're happy to add Dauphin County! Ebony has worked for professional tours such as JLo and Justin Bieber and is excited to bring her energetic choreography to Lark students. Ebony also coaches her own competitive hip hop crew, Flight Crew. Stay tuned for more info!
